Pastor Deem
Rev. David B. Deem is a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, ordained in 1973 (M.Div. from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota; S.T.M. from University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa). He has formerly served congregations in Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and northern Illinois. He is the seventh pastor to serve Lutheran Church of the Cross in Metropolis, Illinois. He has been with the congregation since 1979. In March 2010, the church hosted a dinner in honor of his 30 years of service. He is married to Annette R. Deem. He has been active in ecumenical and community service organizations such as Massac County Ministerial Association, American Red Cross Blood Drive, and the Massac County Mental Health Board. Pastor Deem has served as chaplain at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Good Samaritan Nursing Home) for over 30 years. |
